We were DPraved and this was probably the BEST Swingers Party the UK has ever seen!

The DPraved Party at the Xtasia Swingers Club on Saturday July 30th attracted a crowd of around 300 or so very sexy party goers and we think that it is fair to say that this event has set a standard that no other party in the UK has ever come close to achieving.

Everything about this event was on a different level to anything that we have seen or experienced before and all credit must go to the owners of Club Xtasia and the DPraved organizers for creating a sizzling ambiance in the Club, attracting top quality DJ's and of course getting such a large and appreciative crowd in attendance.

Xtasia Swingers Club is a members only Club that has been transformed over the last four years under new ownership. Unlike many dress down "sauna type" Clubs, Xtasia majors on its nightclub theme and state of the art sound and light system and well stocked - and very reasonable bar. There are plenty of chill and play areas (including a hot tub!) but really Xtasia is all about the nightclub and as such it generally attracts a younger crowd than in some Clubs that we have been to. The Club is centrally located just off Junction 1 of the M5 in the Midlands and so attracts people from all over the UK.


DPraved

The DPraved event organizers trialed a crossover dance/swingers event in the Autumn of 2015 at Club Xtasia and it was a huge success. This was followed by a DPraved Christmas party featuring DJ Brandon Block and this firmly established the DPraved event on the scene. DPraved is just like a regular nightclub vibe other than the attendees are more provocatively dressed and the atmosphere is full of fun and sexual opportunism. Any couple who like to dance to great music and who dream of wearing their Ann Summers gear elsewhere, aside from the privacy of their own bedroom would be in heaven at a DPraved event. Every DPraved event features top resident DJ's Ade Wilcox and David Jay, and more aften than not there is a well known guest star DJ topping the bill as well.


REVIEW - The DPraved UV party at Club Xtasia, Saturday 30th July - 2016

This DPraved event was for couples and single females only and prior to attending we had to confirm our attendance with Club Xtasia. We checked in to the Premier Inn hotel on Saturday afternoon and conveniently it is right next door to Xtasia. Arriving at the Club around 9.30pm it was good to see that the staff were attentive and security conscious, checking bags and pockets for mobile phones, camera's and/or other recording equipment. What was immediately obvious as we arrived was just how glamorous everyone appeared and just what an effort had been made to dress appropriately - and this was just in the reception area.

Moving through the reception in to the main area of the Club and all of our senses were assaulted at once as we descended down to the dance floor. An incredible laser, UV and lighting rig surrounded the dance floor and the whole Club was decorated in white sheeting which accentuated the UV. The sound was phenomenal and already the dance floor was full of party people - many in UV responsive clothing, paint and make up. We could have been in a top quality nightclub anywhere in the UK with one big difference and that is how the women were dressed... This was a visual feast of every kind of sexy outfit imaginable and most certainly NOT what you would see in a regular nightclub.

We decided that we should try the bar for prices and despite the number of people already in the Club, the bar was well staffed and we were quickly served - two double spirits, each with its own mixer for just £10.20! This was all the more remarkable considering that we had earlier been charged £5.50 just for two mixers (two diet cokes) in the hotel next door! 

Taking a little walk around around the Club, we explored the upstairs dogging area (yes really), the downstairs hot tub and cinema room and also checked in on the various chill out and play rooms around the Club. Everywhere was spotlessly clean but what was most over-riding was just how friendly, laid back and easy going everyone was. It seemed as the the Club and everyone in it had been infected with a "happy bug" - conversations were started and flowed easily, people were smiling (and flirting) and at no time was there anything other than an overall ambiance of laughter and fun - a far cry from a typical night out in most town centres.

As the evening progressed, so the star attraction made his appearance - the legend that is Danny Rampling. He may be officially retired but he has not forgotten how to mix some epic tunes and how to fill the floor! Although it seems inconceivable to say this because of how good the party was anyway - his presence lifted the overall experience on to an entirely new level. "Awesome" is a word often over used, but at around 11.15pm on Saturday 30th July, 2016 - the dance floor at Xtasia was an awesome place to be and it was an experience that will live on in our memory for many, many years to come.

It was inevitable that with a pumping soundtrack, the sensual vibe and so many sexy and half naked people around that as the night progressed, many people drifted off to other areas of the Club and partied in an entirely different way - but that is another story completely...

Our night ended at around 2.30am and we returned next door to the Premier Inn feeling privileged that we had been to this DPraved party. Everything about the evening had been outstanding and we wondered if we had attended the event that would be seen in the future as the event that changed the face of swinging in the United Kingdom? Swinging might never be mainstream but as long as events like this continue to grow in popularity why should it not be possible for consenting adults to party together as a couple, just as they did when they were single? There was nothing about this evening that held any association with how the mainstream media look to portray swingers and swingers parties. Indeed, this was a triumphant spectacle of an event that was attended by a happy crowd of fun loving and sexy party people - all of whom appeared to be having the time of their lives.

Is the Midlands the best place to live if you are a Swinger?

Notwithstanding the fact that if you live in the Midlands you can get virtually anywhere in the UK easier than if you live elsewhere, it seems that the Midlands is also blessed to have the two most popular and progressive Swingers Clubs in the whole of the UK. The best news of all though is that they are both completely different to each other and so not in any way local competitors.

Swinging may never become truly mainstream in the United Kingdom, but our society today is much more liberal than at any time in its history as more and more Swingers Clubs are opening across the country. This ever expanding choice is no bad thing and it does provide more choice, but it appears that just as many Clubs are failing as are succeeding and in a market that is already fairly narrow in appeal, it takes something fairly special to make a club really successful.

The Swingrs Team recently undertook a trip to the Midlands with the purpose of taking a more analytical view of two popular Swingers Clubs. Both of these Clubs have huge numbers of loyal patrons who claim that these are the best two Clubs in the whole of the United Kingdom. These are our thoughts…

Chameleons Club in Darlaston (Junction 10, M6) has been around for a while now and it has a great and well-deserved reputation for being one of the best Swingers Club in the UK. The Club is open 7 days a week and has days/nights that cater exclusively for couples (Saturdays), bisexuals (Mondays) and there is even a naked night on a Tuesday where modesty gets left behind at the front desk. Most days, the Club opens mid-afternoon and stays open until late and there are rarely days when it is not busy. If you are travelling from outside the local area, the Club has rooms available on site to rent and all rooms have a comfortable bed and en suite facilities, but be prepared to book ahead – this is a popular option and the rooms do get booked a long time in advance, in particular when big events have been advertised.

Chameleons is what is known as a dress down Club. This means that when you arrive, you dress down into a towel, sexy underwear (or shorts) or into the theme of the evening. No-one wanders around the club in street clothing, it is underwear, shorts, a towel or even naked! The Club’s lower floor comprises a bar and socialising area along with two very large hot tubs. The first floor has a steam room, more social areas, a cinema and a number of private lockable (as well as open) rooms whilst the top floor features a number of newly renovated play rooms as well as a small dungeon room.

Our experiences of this Club have been overwhelmingly positive. It is a very easy going and safe environment where sexy fun may not be guaranteed, but a fun and relaxing time in a sexy environment invariably is. Being a dress down Club and fairly intimate in its layout, those who are ready to play and who hook up with like-minded people can have the time of their lives – and many do!

Elsewhere in the Midland is the town of West Bromwich and right there on the High Street is a Swingers Club called Xtasia. In recent years, this club has seen a revolution in ideas and concepts under the stewardship of its new owners. Xtasia is one of the longest standing Clubs in the UK, but for those who have not been for a few years – the transformation has been remarkable. Club Xtasia is actually a fully licensed nightclub complete with dance floor, high end sound system and fabulous lighting. The Club owners have also recently acquired the pub that was next door to Xtasia and they have now created a gated environment that caters for Swingers as well as lovers of the Fet life.

The reason that Chameleons and Xtasia are not competitors is that they each offer an entirely different experience. Whereas Chameleons is very much a dressed down, chilled out experience (with sex immediately on hand for those ready to go) Xtasia provides for a Nightclub experience with a highly sexually charged atmosphere. One Saturday night in October 2015, Xtasia had more than 600 people in attendance for a major event that had the rafters lifted and the walls shaking. Guest DJ’s who are nationally recognised occasionally feature and the dress code means that the Club goers always arrive looking the part because jeans and trainers are simply not permitted.  It might be expected that a Nightclub theme might attract nightclub prices at the bar, but this is not the case, a double spirit with a mixer is a very reasonable £5.

As well as the fabulous dance floor area there are also plenty of other areas to explore within Xtasia including a cinema, Jacuzzi, attic dogging area, play rooms and a cool down chill out zone. The new owners of Xtasia have raised the bar in respect of successfully organising truly imaginative and successful events that attract ever greater numbers of sexy Swingers. It may not offer the dress down, instant contact opportunities that area available nearby in Chameleons, but why look to compete with something that is already very successful in that respect anyway?

Club Xtasia is successful because the new owners have built and are still developing a sexual utopia that caters for all and which is centered around a large and well equipped dance floor. In 2016, look out for events already advertised that include stomping rave nights (DPraved) with “named” guest DJ’s, outrageous foam parties and the new kinkster special “Freakers Ball” that kicks off in March. For the out of towner, don’t despair, right next door to Xtasia is a Premier Inn and if you book ahead, you can get nights for just £35 per night. Fortunately, Xtasia help you plan your nights by publishing their calendar of events a whole year ahead so we can all enjoy these outstanding nights.

In summary then, the Midlands has two truly exceptional Swingers venues and both are probably the best at what they each do, without actually being in competition with each other. In that respect, the Midlands probably IS the best place to live if you are a Swinger, but fortunately for the rest of us, both of these Clubs have inexpensive hotels on-site or literally next door. 

Both of these Clubs, like all in the UK are members only and the owners of both venues require that anyone planning to attend telephones the Club beforehand and checks the membership requirements.

Thinking About Getting Into Swinging?

With infidelity rates amongst couples now well above 50%, it is really unfortunate that so many people are choosing to seek excitement outside the confines and security of their primary relationship. Of course some people are already aware that there are alternatives to "playing away" but the timing of any discussions about you both having a dabble in the swinging scene is absolutely critical.

Sexhibition Review. Manchester 22nd August 2015

The Swingrs Team attended the Sexhibition Expo at Event City Manchester today 22nd August 2015 and it certainly lived up to our expectations.

The Organisers describe the event as "Sexhibition is 2015’s Erotic Event of the year. Shows, performances, music, workshops & classes, cocktails & cuisine and a unique shopping experience."

It is fair to say that they pulled this off and delivered an excellent event. The shows and presentations were really well organised and choreographed. Out and about in the aisles and booths, the rope, bondage and fet presentations were..... Interesting :-)

As for shopping, there was simply so much to choose from we may just have to back tomorrow as we simply could not carry another bag today. We may also just need to take another credit card!

Here at Swingrs.net, we are firmly of the belief that our society has gone through a fundamental change in recent years. Fifty Shades of Grey delivered kink into mainstream society and if today's attendance was anything to go by the world of sex, fetishism, swinging and general all round naughtiness is now far more mainstream than just a few years ago. We remember only too well the last poorly attended Erotica exhibition in Manchester where the average age of the attendees was well over 40. How refreshing today at Sexhibition to see so many young people openly expressing their sexual preferences and kinks.

Getting married does not switch off human instincts

When the Ashley Madison story was in the news, the headline story was all about privacy and email address exposure. Whilst it seems inconceivable that anyone in their right mind would sign up for such a site using an identifiable email address, we can't help but wonder why so many people are so unhappy in their relationships that they feel the need to cheat on their partner. Having said that, we do have a theory....

We have all heard of the expression that, "all is fair in love and war." This alludes to the very facts of human nature that our strongest natural urges are to survive and reproduce. Fortunately, most of us rarely have to test our survival instincts on a day to day basis but not a day goes by where we do not interact with members of the opposite sex - at work, in the gym and in fact anytime that we are outside the safe confined walls of our homes. Finding someone of the opposite sex attractive is a perfectly natural instinct, we are genetically programmed to react in such a way. This does not mean that we want to mate and reproduce with everyone that we find attractive but the attraction certainly does stem from that deep rooted genetic programming.

Getting married to someone does not miraculously stop our natural urges, how can it possibly do so? Unfortunately, religious directives as well as society at large seem to think that getting married will stop these urges and as a result many couples feel simply unable to talk about the issue because in doing so, it actually questions the concept of marriage as it is accepted in our society. The media has a great deal to answer for in perpetuating the myth that once married a person, male or female should suddenly be able to switch off their genetic programming. It can't happen and the result is that we have millions of marriages in this country where one partner or the other (or both) are having extra marital affairs simply to satisfy their natural urges and all because they feel unable to talk to each other for fear of questioning the validity of their marriage/relationship. How bizarre that a person can feel that having a sexual relationship outside of the marriage is OK but talking about the urges that might lead to it (and prevent it) is still taboo.

Communication is the most important part of any relationship and we would like to see society in general adopt a more open acceptance that people will always find other people attractive. Marriage does not stop this happening, because it can't. Better that couples talk about it, if it does arise in their marriage and better that society accepts that we are all simply human beings.

As a final note to anyone who is in a relationship who is cheating and who is reading this... Talk to your partner; don't cheat on them because ultimately there is nothing more pleasurable than having all your life's adventures shared with your other half. Why on earth would you want to have sex with someone alone when you and your partner could share and enjoy the experience together?
